Indirect Cost Policy

Roanoke College's federal negotiated rate for indirect costs (also referred to as Facilities & Administration) is 46.3% of salaries and wages and 25.5% of benefits.

When an awarded grant includes indirect costs, those monies are allocated as follows:

• 40% to Roanoke College
• 40% to proposal originator for academic expenses (e.g., research, scholarship, teaching, etc.)
• 20% to department of proposal originator
