Roanoke College, Are You Ready to Get Healthy?

This fall, Roanoke College is partnering with the CICV Health Benefits Consortium to offer a new health and wellness benefit program to all faculty and staff.  The CICV has selected Viridian Health Management as the vendor for this program. Viridian Health Management will:

  • Provide onsite Health ScreeningsRoanoke College Healthy Living
  • Administer an onsite HealthImpactTM Assessment of your overall health
  • Send a detailed, personal report of your health risk factors to your home address
  • Help you reduce your risk for developing chronic diseases
  • Provide confidential Health Coaching - personalized support onsite and via phone to help you set and achieve manageable health goals.

What if I am Unable to Attend the Onsite Health Screening?

  • If you can't attend an onsite Health Screening, you can visit your primary care doctor and submit a Health Data Form.
  • To receive a Health Data Form, contact Human Resources or call Viridian Health Management at (877) 486-0141.
  • Send the completed Health Data Form to Viridian Health Management's secure fax at (602) 973-5805.

What Happens after the Health Screening Event?

  • You will receive immediate screening results.
  • You will receive an overall health report within several weeks of the screening.
  • RC Wellness Team will be announcing additional planned wellness activities.
  • You will have access to the Living Healthy CICV website portal.

Wellness Program Facts 

  • All Roanoke College Faculty and Staff are eligible to participate in the wellness program.  This includes full-time, part-time and temporary employees.  Participation is voluntary and free!
  • If you are enrolled in the Roanoke College health insurance plans and participate in the wellness program, you can earn your incentive by completing these three steps! 

1)    Participate in one of the health screening events on October 1, 2, or 10.
2)    Complete the Health Impact Assessment form*
3)    When you receive your overall health report by mail, you must review your report with a health coach by phone or meet with our new onsite health coach to go over your results.

 *Copies of the Health Impact Assessment form are available in Human Resources.  You may complete the form and bring it with you to the screening event or you may complete it the day of the event.

  • Both the employee and spouse must participate in the wellness program for you to qualify for the incentive.
  • Incentive paid quarterly on the last pay period of each quarter so that all employees have time to complete the requirements.
  • If you are not enrolled in the Roanoke College health insurance plans, you can participate in the wellness program at no cost but you will not earn an incentive.
  •  As announced during the meetings, Roanoke College will offer benefit coverage to eligible same-sex domestic partners beginning in January 2014.  If you plan to add your same-sex domestic partner to your health insurance plan during open enrollment, your partner must complete the required steps for you to qualify for the incentive.  The incentive amount will be the same as for Employee + Spouse coverage.  More information about same-sex domestic partner benefits will be provided during Open Enrollment.
  • If you are unable to attend a health screening event, you may visit your primary care doctor and submit a Health Data Form.  Please note that your PCP visit must take place before October 31, 2013.  Contact Human Resources if you need to request a form.
