"Wine, women and song" from the medieval student perspective is theme of this classic work by Carl Orff.  The composer's own arrangement for two pianos and six percussionists will be used.  One reason for "Carmina's" popularity the broad familiarity with its most widely used song, "O Fortuna," which has been heard in many movies.

Oriana Singers: Spring Concert

Oriana Singers of Roanoke College present its annual spring concert featuring a bouquet of treble choral settings from many lands and periods.

Requiem by Maurice Duruflé

Roanoke College Choir will present this beautiful setting of the Requiem text using the composer's own version for organ, choir and soloists.  Dr. Wayne Gallops will be organist and Gregory Parker, baritone soloist. 

The first half of the program will feature Kelly Wheelbarger playing some of Duruflé's organ works and conductor Jeffrey Sandborg speaking about the history of the Requiem as a musical genre and source material for Duruflé's masterpiece.
