Painting the Rock
While there are no written rules concerning the Rock, campus practices models the Golden Rule which states: "Do unto others what you would want them to do to you!" In other words, don't paint over another organization's upcoming event. Polite behavior dictates that your organization may paint the Rock once the advertised event has begun! Usually painting the Rock is "first come, first served" basis. However, when two or more organizations wish to paint the Rock to advertise events in the same time period, it is suggested that representatives of the organizations speak to one another and work out a compromise!
- When painting the Rock, use only water-based paints.
- When using chalk on sidewalks or pavers, use only "sidewalk chalk!"
- Never use chalk on buildings or walls!
- Never use paint on buildings, walls, sidewalks, or pavers! Use paint only on the Rock.
