The Biology Department greenhouse opened in January 1971 and is located on the sixth floor of the Life Science building.

Our mission is to continually increase plant diversity for teaching as well as aesthetic value. The greenhouse serves as a repository for a variety of plant species used in both teaching and research laboratories. Two permanent beds were made by pouring concrete curbs on the floor, permitting the creation of an aquatic garden, as well as a terrestrial planting bed.

Tours of the facility are available.

The Roanoke College Greenhouse is maintained by professors, students, and staff members. For more information visit Contact Us .
