Internships: Real Experience with a Research Angle

Traditional internships, while valuable, usually involve on-the-job training assignments, but some Roanoke internships incorporate a strong research component.

During the past few years, Roanoke College Biology students have performed internships at biotechnology companies such as:

  • Novozymes
  • Hospitals such as Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospita
  • Chiropractors
  • Doctor offices
  • Zoos such as Mill Mountain Zoo

Roanoke Professor is Co-Investigator on Major Research Grant

Dr. Christopher Lassiter, assistant professor of biology at Roanoke, recently was awarded a grant from the Virginia Commonwealth Health Research Board (CHRB). The two-year research grant of $263,000 begins July 1 and is shared with four investigators at Virginia Military Institute.
