The Business Administration and Economics Department offers Roanoke students rigorous and extensive programs of study. Business and economics professors challenge Roanoke students to become experienced and successful professionals in their program of study. To help Roanoke students meet this challenge the department works diligently to teach crucial skills such as writing, research, analysis, and application of theory.
These efforts have been reflected through Roanoke College's high percentage of students whom were able to enter graduate school or begin their careers. In 2009 23.5% of Roanoke College graduates entered immediately into graduate school. Of the remaining students, 82% who were looking for work had found employment within six months of graduating from Roanoke College. This was much higher than the national average number of students who found work within six months of graduating which was only 64%.
