December, 2000: Roanoke College receives grant from the Abbott Laboratories Fund. Roanoke College graduate Dr. Steven A. King (RC '84) was named "Outstanding Researcher" by Abbott Laboratories. As part of his award, a grant was made in his honor to the Roanoke College Chemistry Department, in recognition of the college's role in his scientific education. The grant will be added to the Bondurant Fund, which supports undergraduate research in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
December, 2000: Roanoke College mourns the tragic death of Dr. Deborah P. Glover-Fischer (RC '89). Dr. Glover-Fischer was killed in a car crash on her way to work at Ferrum College. Debbie was the Roanoke College valedictorian in 1989.
September, 2000: Roanoke College Student Affiliate Chapter Wins National Award. The Chapter was named a commendable chapter by the American Chemical Society. Click here to read the award letter, in PDF format.
