Teaching English as a Second Language
Students may earn a license to teach English as a Second Language (TESL) in PreK-12 public and private schools.
A concentration in TESL is also available for those who do not desire the full professional licensure but still wish to work with speakers of other languages throughout the U.S. and abroad.
The Teacher Education Accreditation Council awarded national accreditation to the Teacher Licensure program at Roanoke College. The accreditation is awarded for a five year period, the longest period available to a first-time TEAC accredited institution.
