Students may earn a license to teach English as a Second Language (TESL) in PreK-12 public and private schools.

A concentration in TESL is also available should you be interested in working with speakers of other languages in non-school venues throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Roanoke College Receives Verizon Grant

Dr. Gary L. Whitt, associate professor of education and faculty advisor in the Center for Learning and Teaching, and Mark D. Poore, director of instructional technology and an adjunct faculty member in computer science, recently helped the College to receive a grant from the Verizon Foundation through a program of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges.
