SIHC's recent activities
Congratulations
Congratulations to Matt Hall (pictured below), SIHC president 2008-2009, who received the Roanoke College Outstanding New Leader Award.

Congratulations also to all SIHC members for the award of Most Improved Student Organization. Pictured below (left to right) are Dr. DorothyBelle Poli, SIHC co-advisor, Matt Hall (President 2008-2009), Nick Bonenfant (Treasurer 2008-2009), and Katie Blaney (Activities Coordinator 2008-2009).

The blood drive:
SIHC hosts a blood drive each semester with the American Red Cross. The donations received at each drive varies from 30 to 45 units. Students from many other organizations volunteer to help us with the event. The blood drives usually take place in the Alumni Gym and last the entire day.
Ronald McDonald House 2008:
A group of SIHC members volunteer at the Roanoke Ronald McDonald House at least once a semester. While there we usually cook a meal for the guests and clean up around the facility. The Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit organization with the purpose of helping families who have children in critical care at the local hospital. During the event shown in the picture, we helped with Spring cleaning. Recently we have cooked meals such as spaghetti with meatballs and also lasagna with garlic bread.
Mud Run 2008:
The Marine Corps Mud Run is an event that is meant to raise funds for Toys for Tots. A team of SIHC members ran the 5k course that involved running through rivers, muddy terrain, through woods, and swimming through a mud pit.
Pictured (above) are Matt Hall, Richard Gandee, Christian Conrad, Brittany Reilly, Mike Savarese, Anne Brown, Kristen Clare, and Taylor Zahn.
