Field Trips
Several sociology classes use experiential learning techniques including field trips. Some of the recent field trips are tours of a minimum security prison, a juvenile detention facility, district court, an outdoor living history museum on family life in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a residential drug treatment facility, and examining the damage caused by coal mining and mountain top removal in West Virginia and meeting with environmental activists from the area.
