IL Courses that spend 6 or more nights off campus are TRAVEL courses. See the separate pages on travel courses.
IL courses that spend 1-5 nights off campus are FIELD TRIP courses. These courses will have fees.
IL courses that spend zero nights off campus are CAMPUS courses. These campus courses may or may not have day trips. They may or may not have fees to cover course expenses.
In general, IL courses needed to be supported either through regular department budgets or through student fees. See the webpage on budgets for guidelines on course fees. Small grants from the IL Director can offer modest financial support for class activities.
Faculty eat free! IL pays for faculty lunches in the student center. This is an opportunity to break bread with your IL students -- or with fellow IL faculty to talk and exchange ideas.
