Does Roanoke College offer a payment plan?
Many students and parents have found payment plans to be a convenient way to spread college costs out over a ten month period. Roanoke College participates with one outside agency that offers payment plans to all of our students. Tuition Management Systems is Roanoke's payment plan. The only cost to the family for the plan is a yearly set-up fee. The cost for this origination fee is $65 for TMS. All payment plans begin on June 1st and run through March 1st of the following year. No interest is charged during the payment period.
What happens if I have a credit balance?
Once classes have begun, the Business and Financial Aid Offices will review accounts weekly for credit balances. This involves an extensive review to make sure accounts are accurate and that all funds have been received. When this review has been completed, these offices can then determine if the credit refund will be issued to you or your parent. If you will have a credit balance according to your financial aid award letter, make sure you have completed all of the necessary paperwork (i.e., FAFSA, loan applications, terms, etc.) and taken care of any holds that may be on your account. If all of this is done, then all you have to do is wait until all of your financial aid, including Outside Scholarships and loans, have been received and posted to your account.
How can I set-up a Bookstore Voucher?
Each semester the Business Office will mail a memo to students who are projecting credit balances due to Financial Aid. The memo will inform you of your projected balance and ask you how much you would like us to set-up a voucher for. The completed memo should then be mailed to the Financial Aid Office. You can also contact the Business Office directly at (877) 826-9356 and they will be glad to set-up a voucher for you.
Does Roanoke accept credit card payments?
Yes. Roanoke College accepts Visa, Discover and MasterCard. To make credit card payments, students will need to contact the Business Office directly at (877) 826-9356.
What kinds of tuition and board increases can I expect over my four years?
While you should expect and plan for an increase each year, the College's leadership has maintained a commitment not to allow increases to exceed 6%. We are doing our best to minimize costs while still expanding the quality of student life at Roanoke.
I've completed my FAFSA and gotten my final award letter. What are my options for covering the remainder of my balance?
The award letter/planner brings you right down to the "bottom-line". The projected balance may be paid by one or a combination of the following options:
- Cash and/or credit card payment (Visa, Discover or MasterCard only)
- TMS Payment Plan
- Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students
- Alternative Loans
