The Roanoke College Grant/Scholarship
These merit-based awards are presented to students upon their acceptance to Roanoke College. Recipients must have a proven academic record to be considered. High school GPA and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and/or Academic Competency Test (ACT) scores will be reviewed when determining each individual student's award. Recipients must be fulltime and degree-seeking. Award amounts vary and may be renewed for up to seven additional semesters provided the student maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress.
The Roanoke College Bolton Award
Awarded in memory of Roanoke College's 1st Virginia Graduate, this award is granted to students attending Roanoke College from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Recipients must be a graduate of a Virginia high school and must meet the academic requirements for admission to Roanoke College. This award is made to first time college students intending to enroll full-time in a degree seeking program. It is a $3,000 annual award that may be renewed for up to seven additional semesters provided the student continues full-time enrollment and maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress.
The Roanoke College Kizer Award
Established in memory of Roanoke College's 1st Graduate from the Roanoke Valley, this award is given to students who will be graduating from a high school located in the following areas: the counties of Amherst, Alleghany, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt, Campbell, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke, and Rockbridge, and the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, Danville, Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Salem. Recipients must meet all academic requirements for admission to Roanoke College and be considered a first time college student. Students must also be degree-seeking and enrolled full-time. This $1,250 award may be renewed for up to eight semesters provided the student maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress.
The Roanoke College Lutheran Grant
This grant of $1.000 is offered to full-time regular students who are lutheran To continue this program through four years, students must satisfy the same GPA requirements as specified for the Roanoke College Grant.
Undergraduate Research Assistants Program (URAP) is a source of funding but is not a scholarship or grant. The student is paid in a stipend to be earned through the course of the semester/year.
