Your First Year

The first year of college is full of new experiences. We've developed programs to help you understand what will be expected of you as a student and explore your options outside the classroom.

Orientation

Acclimating to college life does not happen quickly and we acknowledge this by providing an orientation program that spans from your admissions process through the end of your first semester.

Who Will Be Your Roommate?

A popular question - you may already have someone in mind or may choose someone based on the responses to the housing profile which includes information about your preferred living habits. For example, do you like to turn-in early or are you a night owl? In June, the online housing profile will be available to begin the roommate selection process.

Where to Live

Summer Academic Initiative

Incoming freshmen have a summer academic initiative along with faculty and Maroon Corps (orientation leaders) to explore a contemporary theme through multiple media. A summer project will be assigned and then submitted at orientation for further conversations.  Enjoy the exploration!

How to Get Involved

Whether you're interested in finding a social, service, religious, athletic or multicultural outlet, Roanoke College makes it easy for you to get involved.
