Roanoke College track star to race at Division III national championship

Watch Roanoke College track star Carmen Graves in action this weekend.

Graves will compete in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at Grinnell College in Iowa. This is the second time that Graves has raced at the national collegiate level.

Graves, a junior at Roanoke, is ranked third in the 800 for the national meet. Her time of 2 minutes, 9.87 seconds is the seventh fastest in Division III history.

Graves' preliminary race is Friday at 6:55 p.m. (Central Standard Time), while the 800 final race is Saturday at 5:05 p.m. (Central Standard Time). The top two runners from each heat, plus the next four fastest, will advance to the 800 finals.

Graves, of Christiansburg, also is a member of the women's soccer team at Roanoke.
