Jazz and Wind Concert
The musical selections for the evening performance will come from repertoire originally written for dances, the night club and the theater. The Jazz Ensemble will perform arrangements of works that have been performed in the clubs and on the stages of New York City. On tap are old favorites such as George Gershwin's "Summertime" and the up and coming big band composer Gordon Goodwin's new work, "High Maintenance." Among the Wind Ensemble's pieces will be music heard at circuses and in movie theaters. Karl King's "National Emblem March" and an arrangement of Klaus Badelt's score to Pirates of the Caribbean are featured.
