Roanoke wins Datatel Partners in Excellence Award
SALEM, Va. - Roanoke College has received the 2010 Datatel Partners in Excellence Award. Datatel is a computer administrative systems company specializing in higher education services.
CEO and President John Speer made the presentation to Roanoke and Clackamas Community College during a luncheon at the 2010 Datatel Users' Group Conference and Expo being held outside Washington, D.C. Datatel presents the award each year to a two- and four-year client institution. Each institution receives an unrestricted monetary gift and a special commemorative plaque.
Datatel clients qualify for the Partners in Excellence Award by demonstrating exemplary collaboration with Datatel and a commitment to excellence in higher education. Award criteria include: active participation in the Datatel client community and sharing best practices; innovative IT practices and use of Datatel products; active involvement in the advancement of higher education issues; and leadership in providing quality services for faculty, staff and students.
"Roanoke College is delighted to receive this award," said Dr. James Dalton, Roanoke's vice president for information technology and public relations. "Datatel has been a valuable partner as the College has moved forward with providing new services to our faculty, staff, students and alumni. As the reach of core systems is extended to new users and into new areas, Datatel has provided the tools and services to assist Roanoke College in meeting our strategic goals."
