Roanoke College is pleased to host two important political debates this week.

On Tuesday, October 20, Olin Theater will be the site of a live, televised debate between the candidates seeking to be the next Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. This final debate before Election Day will air live on WSLS Newschannel 10, the local NBC affiliate, as well as nationally on CSPAN. The debate is set for 7 p.m. in Olin Theater and will take place in front of a live audience.

The College has no more tickets available for the debate. Those who have secured tickets should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. No entry into Olin Theater will be permitted after 6:45. This is to allow for setup before broadcasting begins.

Bob McDonnell, former Attorney General of Virginia, is the Republican candidate for Governor. Creigh Deeds, a State Senator for Virginia, is the Democratic candidate for Governor.

Roanoke College's Center for Community Research began polling on Monday night to determine voters' opinions in the gubernatorial race. Results are expected next week.
