Roanoke College Presents the Kandinsky Trio 20th Anniversary Series Opener
SALEM, Va. - In celebration of their 20th season, The Kandinsky Trio, one of the longest, most successful artist residencies in the country, will relive their opening concert with an anniversary performance of Smetena's g minor Trio on Saturday, September 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20/$12. The Kandinsky Trio has performed over a thousand concerts of high caliber chamber music in the United States, Europe and Canada. Their performances draw in new audiences with both passionate performances of masterworks and innovative ideas of redefining chamber music.
The Trio's recordings have been aired regularly on Public Radio Networks and their newest CD, In Foreign Lands, released in 2003, was selected by WNED (Toronto and Buffalo) as one of the best CDs of the year. The Kandinsky Trio is one of only six piano trios ever to win the prestigious Chamber Music America Residency Award.
