SALEM, Va.─Kappa Alpha Order (KA), a fraternity at Roanoke College, will hold its fifth Lex to Lax charity run April 9 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. The money raised from this event will go to KA's national philanthropy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The run begins at Washington and Lee University in Lexington and ends at Roanoke College's alumni field in time for the annual lacrosse game between the Maroons and Generals.
The 53-mile relay will take place on Route 11, and most of Kappa Alpha's 40 brothers are expected to run a portion of the race. Runners will be required to carry a lacrosse ball in a lacrosse stick for the duration of the run. Lex for Lax is a revived tradition of the Beta Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order which was established at Roanoke College in1924 and re-chartered in 1988.Tax deductible donations for the charity run can be made directly to the MDA or by purchasing a Lex to Lax t-shirt before or after the lacrosse game.
