Charles H. Fisher Lecture Series

Dr. Judith G. Voet, professor of biochemistry at Swarthmore College, will be this year's Charles H. Fisher Lecturer.  Dr. Voet earned her Ph.D. from Brandeis University and her B.S. from Antioch College.  Her research interests include enzyme structure and mechanism and modeling.  Among the courses Dr. Voet has taught are Modern Instrumental Methods in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, and Topics in Biochemistry.  She is coeditor-in-chief of the journal Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education.  The Roanoke College chemistry department established this lecture series in honor of Roanoke College alumnus Dr. Charles H. "Hap" Fisher, Class of 1928, to provide a forum for chemical, educational and related scientific topics for the chemistry and general community.  Dr. Fisher's distinguished career has involved many different roles in industry, government and private life, including chemical pioneer, researcher, inventor, author, educator, administrator and public servant.
