SALEM, Va.-Dr. Sabine U. O'Hara, president of Roanoke College, announced the appointment of Mark Noftsinger as vice president of business affairs and treasurer of the board of trustees. Noftsinger has worked for Roanoke College since 2005 as director of finance and budget.
Noftsinger has more than 28 years of experience in both public and private accounting and has expertise in operational management, mergers, acquisitions and public offerings. He is a graduate of Mars Hill College in North Carolina and holds a master of accountancy from Virginia Tech.
His past experience includes several senior executive positions including chief financial officer for The Egg Factory, LLC; Director of Strategic Planning for Fortegra, Inc. in Lynchburg; vice president and chief financial officer for Apptis, Inc. in northern Virginia. Noftsinger is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and has published articles in management and tax publications.
"Mark has already made many important contributions to our community, such as preparing our bi-annual campus-wide budget meetings and developing a budget projection model, and I look forward to working with Mark in his new capacity," O'Hara said.
