For the third consecutive year, The Princeton Review has named Roanoke College one of the best colleges in the United States.
Roanoke is one of 378 colleges and universities listed in the 2014 edition of "The Best 378 Colleges." This annual publication, released Aug. 6, is The Princeton Review's flagship college guide. It includes detailed profiles of schools, with enrollment and admission statistics, rankings of top 20 schools in 62 categories and survey results from 126,000 students who attend the colleges.
Also, for the third year, The Princeton Review lists Roanoke among the nation's great school for students who major in business/finance, computer science/computer engineering and psychology.
Students surveyed for this guidebook describe Roanoke as "an amazing school that has given me the opportunity to challenge myself and to experience things in school and in the community that I would not have gotten anywhere else."
"We're pleased the Princeton Review has recognized the impact possible by Roanoke's innovative educational program," Roanoke President Michael C. Maxey said.
Other survey results highlight the College's "great" library and career services as well as "professors who are very lively and passionate about the subjects they teach."
About 15 percent of 2,500 four-year colleges in the United States and four institutions outside the country are profiled in the guidebook.
