RC Poll: Virginia Real Estate Index

The real estate market in Virginia is more attractive for home sellers than for home buyers, according to the results of the latest Virginia Real Estate Index from the Roanoke College Poll. 

Factors such as low mortgage rates, an improving economy and higher sales prices are some of the reasons driving consumers' growing optimism about selling real estate.  

Still, consumers in Northern Virginia, the Southside and the Shenandoah Valley are cautious about buying real estate in the coming year because of the rising prices of some properties.  

Overall, the majority of Virginians believe that the condition of the real estate market has improved since last year.
