Reformation Sunday is an October day observed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as one that laid the foundation for the Lutheran tradition. It recognizes monk and scholar Martin Luther's posting of 95 theses on the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. On the theses, Luther listed issues that he wanted the church to reform, including aligning its practice and preaching with the Bible.
