SALEM, VA—Roanoke College set admissions records this fall with total enrollment and enrollment of full-time students at the top of the list. For the second straight year, enrollment at the College has exceeded 1,900. This year, 1,970 students are enrolled. The total number of students attending full-time during this fall semester is 1,869.
The percentage of students living on campus this year is also the largest ever. Students living on campus number 1,232—or 65.9 percent of full-time students.
Freshmen students numbering 505 arrived on campus in August. They join 96 transfers. A total of 613 new full-time students (including freshmen, transfers and those classified as special students) are attending the Salem campus.
Roanoke College, the country’s second oldest Lutheran-related college, is an independent, co-educational, four-year liberal arts college. Roanoke is one of just 270 colleges nationwide with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society. The Princeton Review names Roanoke as one of the “best in the Southeast.” Roanoke’s 1,970 students represent 41 states across the U.S. and 25 foreign countries.
