Refugee Resettlement & Immigrant Services with Commonwealth Catholic Charities
Teaching English in a classroom setting Monday and Friday mornings provides first-hand experience interacting with and learning about different cultures. English Tutors and Life-Skills Mentors observe American culture and the complexities of the American system from a foreigners' perspective while providing the tools to assist newly-arrived families become self-sufficient.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty and homelessness. Each year Roanoke College builds a house with Habitat in Roanoke City. The group meets on weeknights to plan, and build every Saturday morning. Learn more about R-House.

Every year, Roanoke students build a Habitat for Humanity house as part of orientation.

Micah's Backpack is a student run organization that provides 45 local, underprivileged children with weekend meals.
