Meet the Staff
The staff of the Counseling Center comes from a variety of educational backgrounds and theoretical orientations. We tailor our therapeutic techniques on an individual basis to meet the needs of each student. We work to support the development of all students regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, and country of origin or economic background.

J.R. Hap Cox, Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Director
Dr. Cox earned BA degrees in Political Science and Psychology from The University of West Florida, an MA in Psychology, also from The University of West Florida and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University.

Rhonda K. Ryan, Ph.D.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Staff Counselor
Dr. Ryan earned her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emory and Henry College, her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Radford University and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech.

Colleen A. Quigley, MS
Licensed Professional Counselor
Staff Counselor
Ms. Quigley earned her BS in Psychology from Union College in Schenectady, NY. She pursued coursework toward an MSW in Social Work at Boston University before completing her MS degree in Counseling Psychology at Radford University.

Kathy Russo
Office Coordinator
Mrs. Russo divides her time between the Counseling Center and the Chaplain's Office. She has a Certificate in Religious Education, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Pastoral Life and Administration, and a Specialized Certificate in Christian Spirituality, all earned from Loyola University, New Orleans.
