Why did you choose Roanoke College?
I chose Roanoke College because when I first stepped on campus it felt like home. Everyone that I met was friendly and excited about Roanoke.

What is your favorite aspect of college life at Roanoke? Why?
The ability to get involved in lots of campus organizations. There is always something to do.

What was the most important thing you learned from a firsthand experience at Roanoke?
My internship has been a wonderful learning experience. Dr. Lynch helped place me in a non-profit that truly challenged me to use the skills that I had learned in the classroom.

What are some of your favorite things to do in the area? Favorite places?
I like going to Center in the Square because there is always something interesting to do and see. I also like going to the Mill Mountain Star, hanging out at Mac and Bob's, Macado's or driving up Catawba Mountain.

How did you choose your major?
Before coming to Roanoke, I never thought that I would end up being a Psych major. Then I took the 101 course and discovered that I loved it. The department is phenomenal.

How have you benefitted from a close relationship with a professor, staff member or friend?
There are several professors with whom I have developed personal relationships. Each of them has helped me grow and develop into the person that I am today. Dr. Lynch, in particular, has helped me in all aspects of my life. She helps in pointing out my strengths and weaknesses and how to improve. She also placed me in an internship that I love, which has helped me decide what I want to do after graduation.

What have you done that has been the most fun at Roanoke?
The most fun thing that I have done is getting involved in the Campus Activities Board and helping to plan the big concerts on campus, like Kellie Pickler and the Plain White Ts.

What is your advice for future freshmen entering Roanoke College?
GET INVOLVED!! There is at least one organization that will fit your interests, join it and be an active participant!

What is your favorite thing about campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Sutton Terrace rocking chairs overlooking Kerr Stadium. Here you can just take in the campus environment as well as all the mountains that surround us!
