Campus Recreation and Intramurals

Recreational Sports and Activities at Roanoke College are designed to stimulate interest and participation in physical activities which can be utilized, not only as a student, but also during years after graduation. It is a program that fosters social development in a safe and relaxed atmosphere while satisfying the need to compete. Recreation also stresses certain intangible qualities, such as, sportsmanship and fair play.

	Intramurals Many opportunities exist for students to compete in a wide range of sports. The playing field can be a great place to build lasting friendships, as well as stay in shape. Intramurals sports include; Flag Football, Indoor Soccer, Dodge Ball, Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Volleyball, Softball and Basketball There is also intramural tournaments such as: Cornhole Tournaments, Table Tennis Tournaments, Billards Tournaments, Racquetball Tournaments, Tennis Tournaments and Video Game Tournaments (FIFA, Madden, Call of Duty).
	Club Sports Roanoke College considers club sport teams to be student organizations. They are officially recognized by the college and provide a high level of activity and competition for interested students. Clubs include Squash, Golf, Men's Lacrosse, Ultimate Frisbee, Riding Club and Bass Fishing Club.
	Outdoor Adventures Roanoke College Outdoor Adventures is a student-run program that offers biking, hiking, paddling, skiing, snowboarding and climbing events. Experienced OA student guides lead each adventure.
	Journey Journey is a freshman wilderness pre-orientation program that introduces our new students to the wealth of outdoor opportunities in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas.
	Group Fitness Group Fitness is a fun way to get into shape and offers Zumba, Boot Camp, Yoga and Pilates
