Meal Plans

At Roanoke College, all residential students with the exception of those living in Elizabeth Hall are required to choose a meal plan. The meal plan(s) for which a student is eligible depends on class and residence hall. All residential freshmen students are required to have a 19 meal plan. Students who commute to campus are not required to have a meal plan, though they may certainly choose one!

Meals do not roll over from week to week. Any meals not taken by the end of the day on Sunday are forfeited. 

Signing up for a meal plan

All residential students are automatically signed up for the minimum available meal plan. All residential freshmen students will be automatically given the 19 meal plan when they choose a room in the housing selection process. 

Off-campus students will not be automatically assigned a meal plan, although they may select one by contacting the business office if they so choose.

Roanoke College offers 3 different meal plans, depending on class and residence hall:

Residents of Afton Hall	may choose a 9 meal, 14 meal, or 19 meal per week plan
Residents of Elizabeth Hall	are not required to choose a meal plan but may choose any of the plans if they desire
Residents living in apartments in the New Residence Hall	may choose a 9 meal, 14 meal, or 19 meal per week plan
Residents living in other spaces (including suites)in the New Residence Hall	14 or 19 meal per week plan
All other non-new freshman students	must choose either a 14 or 19 meal per week plan
Off campus students	not required to choose a meal plan but may choose any of the plans if they desire
