Alumni Italy Tour
Join President Michael C. Maxey for the College's first alumni travel tour of Italy.
From May 15 to 28, 2009, Maroons will enjoy "Bella Italia: From the Byzantine to the Baroque." This lavish tour through Northern Italy will go from Perugia to Venice, where President Maxey studied as an undergraduate. Perugia is home to Roanoke's partner, the Umbra Institute, where the group will be hosted for a reception in the Palazzo Oddi, with its frescoed classrooms.
Other features includecooking and wine tasting in medieval San Gimignano, the basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, the "David" of Michelangelo in Florence, Byzantine mosaics in Ravenna and more. Accommodations will be at four- and five-star hotels, andthe tour is limited to the first 23 guests to register.
