The Glass Castle

This year's summer reading is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. "I was sitting in a taxi, wondering if I had overdressed for the evening, when I looked out the window and saw Mom rooting through a Dumpster." So begins the remarkable story of the author's childhood with a charismatic, alcoholic father and a free-spirited, self-centered mother.
