Health and Human Performance

Welcome to the Health and Human Performance Department (HHP). The HHP Department is home to majors in Health and Human Performance and Athletic Training. With the Health and Human Performance major, students are offered emphasis areas in exercise and sport studies; including exercise science, sports management, sports communication and physical activity and aging. Students may also complete requirements for health and physical education teacher licensure (PK-12). The athletic training major is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

The HHP Department at Roanoke College has eight full-time and several part time teaching faculty. The department is housed in the Bast Physical Education and Recreation Center. Also located in Bast are the Belk Fitness Center (5000 sq. ft. facility), a state of the art athletic training room and computer lab. Alumni Gymnasium, adjacent to Bast, houses our aerobics room, Human Performance Laboratory and swimming pool.
