Roanoke College Choir

The Roanoke College Choir is the principal performing and touring ensemble of the College. Comprising up to sixty auditioned singers, members of the Choir represent every academic discipline on campus. The Choir is widely recognized for its versatility, innovative programming and beautiful sound.
In addition to frequent concert appearances in the greater Roanoke area and along the East Coast, the Choir has been heard frequently with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. Collaborations have included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Duruflè’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, and Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky.
Recent guest conductor/clinicians have included Gunnar Eriksson and Ulrika Karlsson, both from Sweden, LoneLarson from Denmark, and Roger Treece of Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra.The Choir’s international travels have taken it to twelve countries since 1996. In May, 2004 the Choir was part of D-Day commemorative activities in several Normandy towns and cities. The choir returned to France in 2008 for a two week concert tour which included stops St. Lô, Montpelier, Paris, Saint-Maximin, and Nice.
