About the Program
Finance is concerned with securing, managing, and investing money. These functions are carried out within the context of a profit-seeking firm, a non-profit entity or a government agency. Study in this area focuses on banking procedures, bank accounts, loan, interest credit, trusts, investments, accounting procedures, budget and financing and security.
A concentration in finance is achieved by completion of the following program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0: Economics 232, Business Administration 242, 342, 442 plus three units selected from Economics 242, 247, 252, or Business Administration 142, 315, 322, 341, 345, and 416. Admission to the concentration requires an overall grade point average of 2.0 and a 2.0 grade point average in all courses that are prerequisites to concentration courses.
The world of global business came alive for Kristin Troianello '15, who studied in Italy in Fall 2013, and interned for Pashmere, a cashmere clothing company.
