Dr. Frank Shushok Jr.
Dr. Shushok has been a champion for higher education and student success for more than 30 years. He is passionate about creating environments that foster innovation and transformative learning. Inspired by his own journey as a student, he’s also a tireless advocate for removing barriers to access and ensuring all students are able to unlock their potential and purpose at Roanoke.
Initiatives

This collaborative process will build upon the work of the College’s previous strategic plan, "The Roanoke Difference: Live on Purpose," which was completed last year.

The Shared Governance Task Force is charged with studying, designing and recommending a new structure for shared governance at Roanoke College.

Following a comprehensive feasibility study, Roanoke College announced in fall 2023 the reinstatement of Maroon football after a hiatus of more than 80 years, along with the establishment of marching band and competitive cheer programs.

Along with a group of community partners, the College welcomes state and regional leaders on March 7 to discuss talent attraction and retention.

The teams, which will be made up of a cross-section of community members, will collaborate and offer recommendations to ensure the College’s success in a rapidly changing world.

The official investiture ceremony brought together students, alumni, faculty, regional leaders and higher education innovators.
