President Michael Maxey issues statement to the campus community regarding the recent events in Charlottesville. The Student Government Assocation Executive Board also released a statement about Charlottesville. 

"Defending the Fire" is an exploration of the Native American Warrior. It debuted in August on S.W. Virginia Public TV, digital channel 15. 2.

Roanoke College is taking nominations for the 21^st annual Charles Brown award. This award is given to a Salemite who has impacted the Salem community in positive ways.

Maroon Matinee is a new YouTube channel created by the Student Activities office to showcase student films.

Focusing on input from students, Roanoke is once again included in one of the nation's top college guidebooks. Three academic programs were also recognized.

The pair's work resulted in the book "A Courageous Fool."  Anderson always thought she'd like to write a book one day, but never pictured it happening this soon. "This is a dream come true," she says. 

Stanley Meador '96, an FBI agent, was honored with national award for law enforcement officers. He was recognized for his role in locating a girl who was abducted from her home and later found alive.

Inspired by economist Milton Friedman and his passion for free markets, the Center for Economic Freedom's mission is to educate students and the community on the freedom of markets and individual choice in a liberal arts setting. Dr. Alice Kassens, will direct the Center. 

Young Adults in Global Mission, sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, sends college graduates ages 21 to 29 around the world for various kinds of service.
