Norm Fintel, Roanoke's eighth president, spearheaded significant growth at Roanoke from 1975 to 1989. The campus grew with the additions of the Bast Center, Olin Hall, the former Roanoke County Courthouse and the purchase of the Elizabeth campus. Enrollment and endowment grew as well. 

In celebration of the Class of 2017’s upcoming graduation in a month, several seniors shared their favorite Roanoke College memories, their advice for future and present Maroons, and plans post-graduation. Read about each of them and check out the photo gallery.

Brieanah Gouveia received Fulbright Study Award to Scotland's University of Glasgow for an art history program titled Collecting and Provenance in an International Context.

Kristen Wicander will be teaching English to children ages 6-12 in La Rioja, Spain. In addition, the Spanish and psychology major will be teaching social studies, science, and American culture.

The Fishwick Literary and Debate Society is named for John P. Fishwick, a 1937 Roanoke graduate who served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Harvard Law School. Mr. Fishwick endowed a professorship in the English department, which is held by Dr. Robert Schultz, the John P. Fishwick Professor of English.

Virginia is for Lovers and Roanoke College has loved its home in Virginia for 175 years. As part of the celebration of 175 years, the Virginia LOVE letters time has been extended to Friday, April 21.

During the week of April 3 - 6, two award-winning Native American authors will visit Roanoke to discuss and read from their work. Other events will include a poetry recital, a theatrical performance, panel discussions and lectures.  

Roanoke College students have earned a record number of Fulbright awards this year. Five students, all women, learned this month that they would be doing research and studying in Austria, Spain, Mexico, Germany and Scotland with the prestigious Fulbright program.
