Virginian sentiment about real estate markets backed away from the second quarter numbers, yet current conditions are trending upwards.

Sentiment continues fall despite household spending, driven by expectations for the coming year. Consumers continue to spend reflecting the strength in current conditions and report plans to purchase expensive  items before anticipated price increases from tariffs.

Democrats lead in a generic General Assembly ballot. President Trump's approval rating is down in Virginia. Approval for Gov. Northam is up slightly. 

As the special session of the Virginia Assembly convenes to address several issues related to gun violence, the Roanoke College Poll looks back on polling on issues related to firearm regulation from the past few years. 

The Va. Real Estate Indexes tell a polar tale. Overall sentiment increased but vast differences between buyers and sellers exist. Amazon's arrival is a significant factor in northern Va. 

The latest Roanoke College Poll shows the Virginia Index of Consumer Sentiment fell by over four points to its lowest level since Aug. 2018. 

The Virginia Real Estate Indexes held fast to the dips in the last quarter of 2018. Buyers appear frustrated by prices which are currently driven by falling inventories which are down 15 percent over the past year.

The Va. Index of Consumer Sentiment increased by almost two points, largely due to gains in consumer expectations for the coming year. The party gap grew amidst political turmoil.

The latest poll of Virginians looks at leadership issues, sexual misconduct, immigration, socialism and gun control.

Virginia Real Estate Indexes fell sharply over the fourth quarter, but remain strong. The index for current real estate conditions dropped almost 15 points from the record high last quarter but remain in strong territory particularly for the slow winter months.
