About Dr. Ramey
- Dr. Teresa Johnson Ramey is Roanoke College's Vice President for Community, Diversity, and Inclusion. With over 30 years of experience in higher education, she has worked at various institutions: Francis Marion University, Spelman College, Texas Tech University, Aiken Technical College, Case Western Reserve University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Jacksonville State University.
- Most recently moving from Florence, South Carolina, Dr. Ramey served on several non-profit boards of directors within the Florence community, such as the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, the Florence Men's Choral Society, the Diversity Initiatives Advisory Group, and the Naomi Project, a long-term shelter for women survived abuse. Dr. Ramey also holds certifications in alternative dispute resolution, Title IX procedures, and workplace diversity.
- Professional development includes the Harvard Institute for Educational Management and the HERS: Women Leaders in Higher Education program. In addition, she is trained and certified in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
