Mr. Mauney was a president and general manager of the Kings Mountain Manufacturing Company, Kings Mountain, N.C.
He was a native of Kings Mountain and attended Roanoke College, where he received the B.A. degree in 1922. The following year he earned his M.A. at the University of North Carolina.
He spent most of his career as a textile executive, joining the Kings Mountain Manufacturing Company in 1938. He retired in 1966.
Mr. Mauney was national president of United Lutheran Church Men from 1960 to 1963. His church work included key offices in the North Carolina Lutheran Brotherhood, North Carolina Council of Churches and the Board of Foreign Missions of United Lutheran Church in America.
He had a lifelong interest in scouting and received the Silver Lamb Award for service to Scouting in the Lutheran Church of America. He also received the Silver Beaver Award from the Piedmont Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Mauney served as president of the General Alumni Association of Roanoke College.
Aubrey Mauney received the Roanoke College Medal in 1967.
