Noble Marshall received a B.S. degree in business administration from Roanoke in 1935, having served as student body president. He also was an active member of Blue Key Honor Society. Mr. Marshall also attended the University of Virginia on a teaching scholarship as an instructor of economics. Soon after, he earned his M.S. in business administration and economics from the university.
In 1937, Mr. Marshall returned to Roanoke and accepted a position at Appalachian Power Company in the system accounting office. He retired as head of the accounting department in 1976 after nearly 40 years of service.
Mr. Marshall's enthusiastic loyalty to Roanoke College was obvious. He served as president of the Alumni Executive Council and national chairman of the Honor Guard Advisory Committee. He also was a Roanoke College Associate and a member of the Society of 1842.
In addition, Mr. Marshall served as president to the Business Men's Club, chairman to both the Salvation Army Boys Club and Recreation Department of the Chamber of Commerce, and was an active member of several committees in the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke. He also was an active member and deacon of Second Presbyterian Church, Roanoke.
Mr. Marshall enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and caring for family and friends.
