Thomas A. Darnall, Ph.D. is a preservation and renovation specialist. He was an associate pupil of Mr. Walter Macomber, chief architect for Perry, Shaw and Hepburn, who restored Colonial Williamsburg. Thomas has been responsible for numerous governmental and private restorations and preservations.
He is a Chartered Architect in Great Britain and Republic of Ireland, and he is also a member of the Royal Institute of British Architect, Construction Specifications Institute, and the Society of Architectural Historians.
Thomas is the former President of the Metropolitan Washington Board of Trade, and he served on the Georgetown Fine Arts Commission and Alexandria Board of Architectural Review. Thomas also served as secretary and treasurer (gubernatorial appointee) on the Alexandria Historical Restoration and Preservation Commission.
Thomas A. Darnall received the Roanoke College Medal in 1988.
