Pickle (Colket 111)
Join us for a talk about reusable menstrual products! In this community event, we will have a special guest speaker, Professor Diane Brogan, come speak with us about the Days for Girls Program. Days for Girls is a global nonprofit that works to address stigma and concerns association with menstruation. Professor Brogan was formerly part of the Sociology Department and started the Days for Girls Program on campus. During this event, she will elaborate on the Program's impacts. Additionally, Riya Patel, a senior majoring in Public Health Studies and Biochemistry, will be discussing how she has restarted the Program on campus in recent semesters. Riya also administered a survey last Spring asking students, faculty, and staff about their perceptions regarding reusable menstrual products. She will also be sharing her data collected through this survey at this event. Lastly, all attendees will have the opportunity to try some reusable menstrual products on a uterus model and take some reusable menstrual products with them for free!
