The President's 25 (P25)
Leaders passionate about helping the College support endowed student financial aid
There’s nothing more critically important to the future of Roanoke College than helping students afford a Roanoke College education. Of the more than $36 million in institutional financial aid awarded to Roanoke College students annually, only $3.6 million is funded through endowment proceeds. This puts tremendous strain on the College’s finances and, more importantly, limits the ability to help support students at a level they need.
In 2024, Roanoke College students graduated with an average of $36,000 in student loans, and we must work diligently to reduce the costs of attendance, especially for middle—and lower-income students. For this reason, President Frank Shushok has made raising endowed student financial aid his number one philanthropic priority.
President Shushok established a critical leadership group of donors called the President’s 25 to create momentum and, ultimately, a Roanoke College movement. These individuals are modeling the way for this initiative by being among those leaders who commit to giving $5,000 or more a year for five years for endowed student scholarships.
The President humbly requests that P25 members also play a visible and active role in helping pave the way forward by championing the importance of student financial aid at Roanoke College. You can learn more about those who have joined the President’s 25 here.
Will you be among the champions who change the course of history for Roanoke College and our students?
