Roanoke College's new Science Center will complete the school's transformation physically and fundamentally, boldly setting the tone of our institution as forward-thinking.
In February 2023, Roanoke's board of trustees approved a phased construction approach that will bring this exciting vision to reality. Our new facility, which will stand where Massengill Hall is now located, will be built in the first phase, which is projected to begin in 2024 and last 22-24 months. Once that phase is complete and cash funds are secured for the next portion of the project, the renovations of Trexler Hall and Life Sciences will commence.
The construction of our new Science Center requires a total investment of $60 million. Strong commitments from a number of generous funders have already helped us lay the groundwork for success. Now, we turn to the Maroon Family — our alumni, parents and friends — to request universal support to move this new complex from vision to reality.
There are more than 200 individual spaces and rooms in the Science Center that can be named for an alumnus/a, professor, student or loved one. These diverse spaces and rooms range from small student study spaces to classrooms or laboratories.
Thank you for considering an investment in this essential project, the exclamation point to 25 years of campus revitalization.
