Changing Schedules
Changing Schedules: New students (freshmen and transfers) are not allowed to add or drop a class online without permission from their advisor. Confirmation of all changes made in your advisees' schedules will be sent to you by email and listed under "Viewcode." Students may change their schedules in at least three different ways over the next week, depending on the time of the week the change occurs.
- Over the orientation weekend: Students may change their schedules by stopping at the Center for Learning & Teaching desk at check-in in the Wortmann Ballroom on Saturday, August 25.
- Before the first class meeting: Freshmen and transfer students may add "open" classes (those with seats still available) with only an advisor's initials on the Change to Course Schedule Forms, which are available from each department secretary and from the Registrar's Office. You should check class availability on WebAdvisor or Student Planning. Students should be sent, with the completed form, to the Registrar's Office in the Administration Building where changes will be finalized. Students may also stop by the Center for Learning and Teaching.
- After the beginning of classes: If the student has been unsuccessful in altering the schedule before the first class meeting because a class is "closed," he/she should attend the first class meeting and ask the faculty member to sign, and advisor to initial, the Change to Course Schedule Form. Classes may be dropped with only an advisor's signature on the form. Please do not let students drop without also adding another course. All forms must be turned in directly to the Registrar's Office.
