About Coursedog
Coursedog has been adopted by the College as an initiative to reduce busywork and overhead, increase transparency and agency regarding changes and decision-making, and modernize workflows and information tracking. Coursedog is the academic operations platform that empowers academic administrators to support on-time completions and operational excellence; their mission is "to break down barriers to opportunity for students" and is known informally as "higher ed's best friend."

Coursedog "Office Hours"
To support the phased rollout of Coursedog on campus, the overall project and system administrator, Dave Taylor, is holding open office hours for Fall 2024 so that anyone can stop by and learn how to use parts of the system or receive help while trying to "do something" in Coursedog.
Please feel free to stop by Admin 103 during the following times (starting Monday, September 9, 2024) or email to setup an appointment:
- Mondays, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
- Thursdays, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (except 9/26 and 10/3)
Coursedog Resources
Below are a list of resources for the various modules within Coursedog, some curated by the College the maps our workflows and terminology to the various areas inside of the platform and others are tutorials, guided tours, and videos made by Coursedog. Please do not use the Coursedog system to submit support tickets to Coursedog; use the Roanoke College form below to report potential issues or to ask for additional training internally.
- Correcting Typos and Migration to Course Errors: It's more likely than not that more than several typos or mistranslation from our former Word/PDF files into Coursedog occurred. Use this form to report typos and corrections to be made so that we can get our Coursedog information and data cleaned quickly -- we greatly appreciate your help!
- Additional Coursedog Permissions: Coursedog uses the College's single sign-on system (SSO) so use your official College email address, which should prompt you to login using the usual Microsoft email, password, and two-factor authentication process. If Coursedog doesn't recognize your email address use the "First Access" button above. If your role or position at the College should have elevated permissions for certain modules, use this form:
